special ed students who was shot was outraged. >> they did not call and let me know that my job was shot. -- my child was shot. >> the mother did not want to be identified. she said her son was lucky. shot six times in the lower extremities in the incident, but he was able to get out of the hospital today. she said he had been complaining to her about the shooter for six weeks. >> she said he is a jerk, he interrupts the class all the time. >> he left the building, came back at the end of the school, came back and shot her son after a brief argument as to is trying to board a school bus. he said security should have stepped in during the argument.d shooter was arraigned at d.c. superior court this afternoon. the school system defended security, saying when the shooting occurred, the school security staff contacted the mpb immediatelyed quickly

and appropriately to lock down the building and ensure there are no additional industries. according to court papers the police all smothers running from the school and chased him down. smothers reportedly told him he routinely kept a gun near the school, but he did not like the victim because the victim thought he was "all that." again, the victim is out of the hospital today. he was shot in the hips, legs, and buttocks as he run -- as he ran from the gun wielding smothers. >> prince george's county police have busted a phony iphone ring. they say a father and son were selling fake iphone that looked pretty good from far away, but up close and in use, there were far from the real thing. brad bell has the details tonight. >> this is one of the phone boxes. you can see it really looks

like an apple box. you pull the phone out, it looks real, but it does not feel real though. when we show the phone around the same parking lot where people were fooled. in the glare and rush of a public parking lot, it would be easy to be fooled, until you take a closer look. it is hard to tell the real phone from a fake from the back but when you turn them around, the difference is obvious. this is the real phone. you can see the screen is vibrant. the fake phone is dull and glory. >> $20 worth of plastic and jump. the special enforcement squad arrested father and son team daniel and harold parker after they sold one to a detective for $120.

>> cosmetic surgery centers in maryland should be licensed. currently they are not because the idea is doctors performing these procedures already have a license. monarch medspa in timonium shutdown after three people suffered from infection from a bacteria and one of them died. these women are shocked about the deaths. they work in a store a couple of doors down. >> i did not know you had to have a license to do that. >> because of this incident, health officials told us they are looking for ways to regulate and monitor these types of facilities, which also do breast implants and tummy tucks. >> liposuction surgery, and i certainly would not do it in a spot.

it happened on the 4200 block of first street se last night. we are told the two would be robbers came up to a man who lives in an apartment there and forced their way into his apartment as the victim was driving home. at some point inside the apartment, the victim and the two robbers got into a struggle. a gun went off and one of the would-be robbers was shot. the other one escape, according to police. the one who was shot is identified with 21-year-old joe johnson, which is a name that was connected with the very notorious murder case here a couple of years ago. it involved the murder of a popular principle who lived in silver spring after betts had talked to the men on a chat line. they came to his house and attempted to rob him. joe johnson, the man who died, is not the one who was responsible for pulling the trigger in that case.

he pled guilty as an accessory to first-degree murder and his fingerprints were found in brian betts' home that night. this afternoon he is deceased. we are told he was one of two would-be robbers in this department in the southeast. at some point during the struggle, he was shot by the would-be victim. police said they cannot comment on whether any charges will be coming against the would-be victim. they say they are still investigating. >> coming up, the progress at arlington national cemetery. >> and microwave popcorn make you sick? according to one lawsuit, it can.

every county has free an anonymous services for victims and abusers. they can change, too, if they get help. >> on a different note, the the space shuttle endeavour is on the last leg of its final flight. the shuttle landed at edwards air force base in california seconds ago on top of modified jumbo jet. it is headed to the california science center in los angeles where it will go on display. earlier today it flew over tucson arizona, in honor of congress woman gabrielle giffords. >> we had that year, and it was incredible. >> it looks like we'll have one little bump in the road saturday evening. the daytime will be good for an outdoor stuff.

the beautiful colors and hikes clouds all across the region. comfortably dry, warm air in the mid-7's around the area. right now, 75 is the latest in alexandria. the southerly breeze at 5 reported right now. 74 right now at reagan national. just a few degrees above the average high for late september. as we get to the evening hours we will see the temperatures drop pretty quickly into the 60's after sunset and into the 50's overnight. as we get for the next couple of days, the air mass is coming from down here in the tennessee valley. may be around 80 degrees. on saturday we will get a push of warm air i have a cold front.

at the moment, it is very pleasant down at that coast. a cold front up to the north and west. a stronger one will be moving in our direction by saturday evening. clear skies tonight. here is the futurecast, a picture of what is going to happen in the next couple of days. sunshine tomorrow and nearer 80. saturday we will get a push of southwesterly winds. the front will come through saturday evening. a chance of scattered showers and may be an isolated thunderstorm. the front will come across the appalachians causing the showers and storms. sunday color with highs only in the lower 70's.

>> it has been to a year since arlington national cemetery was under fire for a mislabeled gravestones and mismanagement. >> the new report is out on the cemetery's progress over these last two years. suzanne has more on what the new inspector general's report found. >> 400,000 men and women are laid to rest here until recently there was a great deal of uncertainty about where each one of them was buried. now the new report said significant progress has been made. the pentagon inspector general's report released today indicates a complete about-face when it comes to operations at arlington national cemetery. two years ago, the burial ground was mired in mismanagement which included misidentified

keep the animals. the mayor says he is expected to sign it. a ymca was closed after an early morning fire that broke out on the side of a building. $50,000 in damage was done to the outside of the building. the cause is now under investigation. no one was hurt. the ymca has not said how long it will be closed down. >> this is 395 south, looking solid toward duke street. traveling the inner loop of the beltway near 66 there is a crash blocking the right lane. some additional delays as you work your way past 270 over toward university boulevard.
